I've been better. I think everyone knows now that I'm a fucking sleeper agent cultist.
But.. In good news I guess. I caught a deer.
[It's sort of a deer anyway. Mostly a deer. Said deer is behind him, about the size of a cat with 10 legs and a ridge of bony protrusions from its antlers down its back. There's a makeshift harness around it's middle and it's tied to a chair where it's currently sitting, eating from a pile of fruit in front of it.]
It's probably better people know. In case I go crazy.
I caught it in the forest after it's mother got eaten. Gonna feed it for a bit and then release it. She seems to be doing okay. Least I think it's a she.
when she arrives, she's in one of her usual white sundresses with white sandals. she approaches Pratt and the deer carefully, making little cooing noises at it]
Yes, please drink so you'll grow big and strong. [to Pratt] She's beautiful. Where did you find her?
I was out in the jungle scouting around and there was a whole herd of them. But then a flock of these purple.. kind of.. pterodactyl things swooped down and attacked. The herd ran off leaving this little gal behind.
So I caught her and brought her here. I'm not even sure she's really weaned. She doesn't eat food she more... mushes it.
[It's not trying to chomp her fingers, so that's a start anyway.]
There were some leafy plants that kind of look like pumpkins, but she won't eat those either. Well.. she will if I mush them up and then pry her mouth open and put them on her tongue. Then she'll chew and swallow them. But not if I just offer it to her.
I'm not going to feed this thing like a baby bird.
[a bit dubiously] Maybe? I wouldn't put it past the aliens to put us on a planet with cute little vampire deer. But she shouldn't be interested in our blood, we're not from around here.
[no, not yet. not that she could, Tinya would just phase her fingers away]
You might have to? You did take her in. I guess you could always try to find a herd of more of her kind and see if they'd accept her, but if they don't? Then what?
Yeah I'm not sure. I was only going to keep her until she was old enough to fend for herself, maybe a few weeks or so. Not forever.
[The deputy with a bleeding heart for small animals.]
Maybe it needs to be sweeter, mix everything with sugar. I'm not sure. But she's been doing fine so far. Other than standing on that chair yelling in the middle of the night.
Like a goat or a sheep. Standing there making loud, annoying noises until I wake up and give her more food that she won't eat but wants to make a mess with.
[It's like having a toddler only furrier.]
I can't keep her, someone might try and eat her when she's bigger.
Re: Video
Uhm. Thanks?
[How does he respond to this? He doesn't have the emotions for this conversation. Can he go hide in his closet forever?]
Re: Video
[she beams at him]
How're you?

Awww, it's really sweet of you to do that for her. Can I come over and see her?
no subject
Sure. She's not exactly friendly and has a lot of teeth, but they're not sharp.
no subject
Not being friendly, that makes sense. She's still a wild animal. I'll be over soon.
no subject
[He is unconvinced, his paranoid brain is convinced that everyone is going to come after him in the next ten minutes.
When Tinya arrives he's sitting across from the deer trying to offer it water while it squawks and snaps at him. ]
Ya gotta drink, come on. It's good for you.

[she bends over towards her, making more little cooing noises]
Is there anything I can do to help?
no subject
[The creature flicks its oversized ears, nose working overtime to sniff at those fingers.]
She doesn't seem to want to eat fruit, or grass, or even meat. She does like making a mess of anything I try and feed her though.
no subject
[she continues cooing gently]
No fruit, no grass, no meat? What else is there? [she sighs and looks thoughtful] What was nearby when you found her?

Yelling? [she giggles] She yells?

no subject
[and cuter]
People actually eat these little guys? That's awful!
no subject
[He reaches out and flicks one of her oversized ears, getting an angry bleat in reply.]
I wouldn't be surprised. It's a deer isn't it? People eat deer.
[Not him obviously, but someone might.]
no subject
[and she giggles at the display.
and sounds horrified] They don't where I come from, but . . . I guess other Terrans might. Still, they're so cute, killing one would be cruel.
no subject
In my world there's basically just me. And that's only because I think I'll puke if I have to see chunks of bloody meat ever again.
[He shudders, even thinking about it is making him queasy.]
Lots of people hunt deer, they're cute when they're little. Then they get big and stupid and run in front of cars and cause accidents.
no subject
...do I--do you want to explain why? You don't have to if you don't want to.
[she gives him a concerned look]
Oh. Well that's. Unfortunate? But they're animals, they can't exactly help themselves.
no subject
Not all of it was from animals either.
[He frowns.]
Least I don't have to do that here. And there's also no cars to hit these little guys so she won't become roadkill that I have to clean up. Right?
[He reaches down to pet her head, letting her chew on his sleeve.]
